A client portal for ClickUp, one per client
Supporting several clients out of one workspace usually comes down to two arrangements. A shared inbox per client keeps the clients apart but leaves you with no record of what is open. Guest access to your ClickUp workspace gives them a real view of their work, and a login to the tool you run your agency from.
A portal each is a third arrangement. Your clients get their own branded place to raise and follow work, and every ticket is still a task in the one workspace your team works in.
How it is arranged
Four things are configured per portal, and they are what keep the clients separate.
One portal per client
Each client gets their own address, their own logo and colours, and their own sign-in. A portal can only show the requests raised in it, so one client’s work is not reachable from another’s.
One ClickUp connection per portal
Each portal carries its own ClickUp API key, workspace and Space. Point them all at your agency workspace, or connect a client’s own workspace where they need to hold their data themselves.
Forms route to whichever List you want
A form belongs to a portal and names the ClickUp List its tickets are created in. One client’s bug reports and their billing questions can land in different Lists.
Your team works in one place
Every client’s tickets are tasks in your own workspace, so your people work them alongside everything else they have on rather than signing in to a tool per client.
When a client has more than one person
Three things are worth knowing about how a portal handles a client with several contacts.
Everyone gets their own sign-in
A client's portal can hold as many people as they employ, at no extra cost, and each of them sees the requests they raised rather than everything their colleagues have sent.
Two of them can share one ticket
Add a colleague to a ticket as a participant and it appears in their portal as well, with the conversation so far. That covers handover while the person who raised it is away, without forwarding a thread.
Clients can move across one at a time
A portal can import the existing tasks from the ClickUp List it points at, so work already in flight appears in the portal instead of being left behind. You map the email addresses on those tasks to portal accounts, and the import can be run again, so there is no single cut-over day to organise.
What several portals cost
Your subscription covers one portal. Each further one is added to the same subscription. Every client can have as many people raising requests as they like, at no extra cost — you are billed for portals, never for the people using them.
| Clients | Additional portals | Per month |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | — | $29 |
| 3 | 2 × $9 | $47 |
| 5 | 4 × $9 | $65 |
| 10 | 9 × $9 | $110 |
Monthly billing, no commitment. Annual works out at two months free on both the base and the additional portals — see the pricing page. You keep paying ClickUp for your own team, unchanged: the people CliqDesk adds are your clients, and they are not in your workspace.
What this replaces
A shared inbox per client
An inbox has no concept of a request being open or closed, so neither you nor the client can see what is outstanding without reading the thread. Two people replying on separate threads about the same job produces two threads, not one request.
Guest seats in your ClickUp workspace
A guest who can reply is a permission controlled guest, and ClickUp's own pricing table says that where you have no seat left, that guest type costs the same as your plan's member subscription. The free alternative, a view only guest, cannot comment at all. Either way the client is signing in to the workspace you run your agency from.
ClickUp docs: Guest-type user rolesA help desk per client
Working inside each client's own Zendesk or Jira means your team holds an account per client, and no one of those accounts shows the rest of the week's work. Compare that with Zendesk or Jira Service Management directly.
ClickUp's guest rules quoted here are their published documentation, checked on 18 September 2026.
